Technical Details of Nu-Loks' Unique Roofing System

Nu-Lok produces a high temperature Vitrified Ceramic Tile (Nu-Slate). The long life characteristics of Natural Slate are retained, but being man-made, they have the advantage of size, thickness, strength and quality control. Nu-Lok Ceramic Tiles have very low porosity – water absorption of approx. 0.05%, all contributing to an exceptionaly long life. Added to this is their strength (you can walk on them) and thin profile/shadow-line at just 7.5mm. Not surprisingly, we offer a 50 year guarantee.

Nu-Lok™ Nu-Slate range

Description	Each Nu-Lok Ceramic Tile is fired at 1200°C to ensure that it is perfectly vitrified. Produced under the exacting standards of ISO 9001 & ISO 14001, each Ceramic Tile is produced to world class standards and is engineered to withstand extreme environmental conditions.

Nu-Lok™ Roofing System Technical Date and Certifications

The Nu-Lok Roofing System offers a straightforward, efficient method of installing both Natural Slate and Nu-Lok™ Ceramic Tiles. This incredibly robust system incorporates Zincalume Battens spaced at 307mm. Locked in place between the battens are Nu-Lok Link Channels, each possessing a stainless steel clip used for securing the leading edge of each slate. This Link Channel eliminates the need for side double-lapping of slates because water passing through the slate is routed by the Link Channel onto the surface of the slate below.

The illustration shows a roof with slates removed, thus exposing the Nu-Lok System underneath. Notice how the missing slates will build up to complete the roof and how the stainless steel clip will secure the leading edge of the slates.
